Srihati cluster is situated on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra, about 40 km away from Guwahati in Kamrup District of Assam. The mighty river Brahmaputra passes through heart of the district. It divides the district into two parts- north and south bank. Guwahati, situated on the south bank of the river Brahmaputra under Kamrup district is often considered as the gateway to the North-East Region (NER) of the country and is the largest city within the region. Dispur, the capital of the state of Assam is situated within the city. Guwahati is one of the most rapidly growing cities in India.

300 weavers out of 1200 weavers of the area is covered by Integrated Handloom Development Scheme, Srihati. 20 SHG groups comprising 15 members from each are formed under Srihati cluster. Srihati-Bathan Hastatat Unnayan Samity is the consortium of the cluster registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. Srihati and Bathan villages are covered in IHDS, Srihati. Srihati cluster is famous for its handloom products for decades. The villages of the cluster is thickly populated . Weaving is one of the major occupation of the area. The product lines of the cluster are gamocha, mekhela chadar, saree, stoles etc. made by mulberry silk, muga silk, en i silk, tasar silk as well as cotton. The existing product ranges shifted to valve added diversified product such as bags, cushion covers, curtains, duvet covers etc.
